mAErio Movement
A downloadable tool for Windows
mAErio Movement is a tool for creating platform game animations with Adobe After Effects.
How to use:
- Design you level with photoshop etc. image editing software (or with AE) and export as png-image.
- Import into mAErio movement, play and record.
- Export keyframes, paste into After Effects and finish your animation.
Notes for latest version (v06):
- Player position + direction is recorded.
- Includes AE-preset that makes really easy to (automatically) animate your character (running-cycle, jump and standing)
- Basic player movement
- Data is exported at 100 fps, so you will have a lots of extra keyframes when pasting it to 30 fps comp for example.
- Camera keyframes may have some jitter! Fix it by using the "Smoother" tool in After Effects. You need to separete x and y coordinates before using smoother for best results.
Notes for version v05:
- Only position data is recorded (x and y coodinates).
- Basic player movement
- Data is exported 100 fps.
Upcoming features:
- Improved player movement and camera systems
Common problems:
"My computer says this is a virus!"
- Some Antivirus software will give false positives and you need to add mAErio Movement on the exception list. -

hey i just downloaded this, and I can not get it to work. when i hit "copy keyframes" and then paste it onto a null, it only pastes the scale keyframes that correspond to turning left and right.
any ideas?
okay, i just tried the v05 beta, and that one works., but obviously doesnt have the player direction. any chance for a fix on this? <3
update: newest version works, i just hadnt separated x & y dimensions. my bad!
Great to hear that you got it working :)
If you use it to create some nice animations, it would be wonderful to see the final result ;)
